The government will focus on investments in the second half of the year, Prime Minister Viorica Dăncilă announced on Friday.
“If in the first part of the year we focused on raising the standard of living of the citizens, in the second part (…) we will focus on investments and we will do everything possible to have as many investments as possible in Romania and, at the same time, to create the favorable framework for investors to come to invest here … (…) Most of the people said that investors do not have trust to invest in Romania, that there is no predictability, that the measures we take are not the ones they want to invest in Romania. We have heard many false things, but we have made a comparative situation with 2016, in which we had the Government zero, by 2017, in which efforts were made and in 2018 we see that the results are very good, and foreign investors not only trusts to invest in Romania, but we have more investments than in the previous years, “said Dăncilă, at the Summer Social School of the Democrate Women Social Organization.
At the same time, she pointed out that the Executive had modified the Public Procurement Act and adopted the Public Private Partnership Law.
“We have modified the Public Procurement Law, a very important law for investors, but also requested by local public authorities. We gave the Law to the Private Public Partnership, and here we have 21 strategic objectives for public-private partnership, and in the last government meeting we adopted the grounding study for the first public private partnership project – the Ploiesti highway, Comarnic, Brasov”, said Dăncilă.
