The National Archive organizes an exhibition about the nationalities in Hungary. The exhibition is opened to the public on Wednesday 11 July 2018 at the National Archives of Hungary’s National Archives – said the institution.
According to the communication, cultural diversity has always been a decisive part of Hungarian history, while in the Carpathian Basin the Hungarians have been in constant contact with other nationalities and nations. The role of different ethnicities is decisive in the evolution of Hungary, proves this information the archive, as well, Who are we? -the nationality exhibition in Hungary has as its main source the “coexistence documents”.
The original diplomas, documents and the objects exposed present the history of nationalities in Hungary from the beginning to the present. Through the documents and objectives of folk art, the exhibition examines the complex relationship that varies in time between the other nationalities and the Hungarians, the evolution of the relationship between different nationalities. The exhibition seeks an answer to the coexistence of the respective nationalities, if there was hostility between them, if they were friendly or indifferent to others, to what extent non-Hungarians were integrated or assimilated.
The common history is represented to visitors with short films as well. There are Bulgarians, Greeks, Croats, Germans, Romanians, Roma, Ruthenians, Serbs, Slovaks, Slovenes, Jews, and ethnicities already missing today. Visitors’ films include the culture, language and music of the nationalities – according to the archive’s announcement .
The exhibition is opened to the public since July 12 in the building of the Hungarian National Archives in Budapest’s Bécsi kapu square.
