Hungary’s government finances 73 million euros in projects in Harghita, Covasna and Mures

The Government of Hungary finances with 73 million euros 66 projects in Harghita, Covasna and Mures, as part of the economic development program of Szeklerland, according to MTI.

Of the declared winning projects 31 come from Harghita, 18 from Covasna and 17 from Mureş County. Applicants whose projects have been rejected have the right to appeal.

During the funding session, only SMEs were eligible to submit projects, and the Hungarian state will finance fifty per cent of the total amount needed to implement, MTI said.

Most of the projects refer to the development of existing firms, but there have also been greenfield investment projects.

The main purpose of the program to support large investments in agriculture is the establishment of agricultural industrial units that succeed in creating an integrated system and supporting these enterprises, on which the long-term development of the agricultural sector in the Szekler Land can be based.
