Criminal file for Romanian demonstrators who have destroyed the gate from the Cemetery in Valea Uzului

Bacau County Police opened a criminal file on behalf of the Romanian citizens who destroyed the gate of the Military Cemetery in Valea Uzului on Thursday, according to a Gendarmerie release. We recall that hundreds of Romanians forced the entrance on Thursday to the cemetery that had been locked by Sînmartin Mayor.

The on-site images show how many Romanians entered the cemetery through the back, skipping the fence, and then destroyed the gate. They avoided in this way the gendarmerie cord that protected the entrance. Once the gate was destroyed, hundreds of Romanians entered the cemetery.

“After the demonstration, a research team from Bacau County Police Inspectorate carried out the specific works necessary for forensic identification. Taking into account the aspects found on the spot, namely the destruction of the access gate in the cemetery, a criminal case was filed in which investigations are carried out regarding the perpetration of the crime of destruction, the act foreseen and punished by art. 253 Penal Code, as well as in order to establish precisely the circumstances of committing deeds and identifying the persons involved “, the statement states.

The Gendarmerie says in the release that “although some tense moments were recorded, there were no situations requiring force intervention or other special measures.”
