The Hungarian opposition urges Viktor Orban to abandon his investments in Transylvania

The Democratic Coalition (DK), a Hungarian parliamentary opposition party, has urged the Government of Budapest to redirect the funds allocated for the construction of football academies for Hungarians living abroad to health and education in Hungary, the Hungarian news agency reports.

Hungary invests particularly in Transylvania.

The leader of the DK, Zsolt Gréczy , said on Thursday at a press conference in Budapest that the government is already building the tenth football academy for Hungarians living outside the country, from Hungarian taxpayers’ money, while the debts of Hungarian public institutions reach 40 billions of forints. Because of the debt hospitals have to postpone consultations, surgeries, and due to the lack of funds are closed whole hospital wards– recalled the politician.

Spending Hungarian money for stadiums abroad is “a treason to the country”, the DK parliamentarian summarized his opinion.
