“After almost four years in which I acted as an independent political scientist and after a long period of insight, I decided it was not time to withdraw from political life, although given the present context, at least of Romanian politics, it was and would be certainly the most convenient option for me personally. But in life it’s not always about us … it’s about the others and about what you think you have to offer to those around you. So today, I decided to join Alliance of Liberals and Democrats Romania officially, to make politics, to fight for an ideal, to put into practice a creed, all are impossible without a party to support you and help you. The Alliance of Liberals and Democrats was and remains my only political option. It is the only party in Romania that founces on values in which I believe and which I share, based on genuine liberal principles. Respect for and protection of fundamental rights and freedoms. For me this is holy and something that is not traded, not even in politics. I hope that through my presence in the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats to contribute to the debates and the decisions of the party and together with the current leadership we can conclude that the individual prosperity, the economic prosperity of Romania can be sustained with and by respecting the civil, political and social rights of the Romanians “. to MEP Renate Weber.
