PSD President Liviu Dragnea said on Wednesday that a few days after the PSD won elections, he began to receive violent threats, stating that he later observed individuals who “watched him” and “made gestures that signify death “. He said he did not notify the Prosecutor’s Office because he “did not have trust”.

“A few days after I won the elections, I began to receive threats by all means and, no matter where they came from, they were full of violence. These written threats slowly shifted from threatening at the beginning to physical threats and from a certain point to direct death threats. They were, I think, false accounts, false names, about everything I had (socializing page, email). I have to simply disappear. I understood that it was a well-coordinated campaign against me, but I did not give it too much importance, I said: it’s the anger after the election, “Dragnea said at Antena 3.

Dragnea said that, at some point in the course of March and April (2017 – nd), individuals were noticed, always others who looked at him with “a certain insistence, somewhat professional” and felt that he was ” filmed, watched”.

“In the first part of April, I think, they became more and more ostentatious, there were other individuals all the time, and when I looked at them they made gestures that signify death, they moved their hands by the throat,” Dragnea said.

He added that one evening in April, “things went further” than expected.

“I was in a public space and I felt the same presence that I was aiming at. I thought four people dressed in dark clothes came to where I was, I was in a rather noisy group in a restaurant They stopped a few yards from me, one, so, made a sign like this and, at one point, they were getting closer, one answered the phone and closed the phone and suddenly they backed off and left, “said Liviu Dragnea.

He reported that a few nights after this episode, driving through a “narrow street” in the September 13 area, cars with no registration numbers tried to block the vehicle he was in.

“There have been two incidents that have confirmed to me that they are starting to have serious intentions, and I have much thought to speak with state institutions, to refer them, to start an investigation in that sense. I gave up and kept these facts silent until yesterday, but today I spoke up because I’m not afraid or dead any more, but now there have been threats to the family and I say it would be good to stop “, added Dragnea.

He also asked about the four individuals who had a threatening attitude about him, that he had received a series of information on this subject from a friend, a foreign citizen.

“A friend who is not Romanian a week or two after these incidents told me that there really were some strangers who came to assess if that was possible. That’s what he told me, that’s what I’m telling you and I do not want to impersonate him as long as I have not made any referral (…) but he is a very well-informed man ” said Dragnea.
Recalling that one evening at the same TV station he was asked if George Soros had any involvement in the episodes he talked about, Dragnea said: “There is no confusion, even if I have a very bad opinion about this man, I do not think he was involved in these actions.”

Dragnea said he has now also noticed he is being pursued by a car, but he also puts this on the back of a “campaign of intimidation.”

The PSD leader has said that, as a result of a possible investigation by the competent institutions of the situations he described, he understood. “Whether this information is real or not, a file has been opened on this matter or something similar about it, I think an institution should answer if the information was correct. Being asked why he did not go to the Prosecutor’s Office, Dragnea said he “did not have trust”. “I made a criminal complaint to Mr. Mircea Marian in 2017, which has incited violence, publicity, people come to me at home and I filed a complaint at the Prosecutor’s Office.
