UDMR chairman Kelemen Hunor said at Zetea on Saturday that there is no clear opposition in the Romanian Parliament but several oppositions, one being Liviu Dragnea’s opposition represented by Victor Ponta.
“On the opposition side, there is already a division, a struggle between them. We can enter, but we have to establish where we stand, because today there is no clear opposition in the Romanian Parliament.” There is Dragnea’s opposition, that is Victor Ponta, they have unresolved cases. They are 10, they said they were more, but we do not know who they are. PNL is also an opposition, therefore we cannot stand with both of them generally. There is still Basescu’s party, which is about to dissolve, because in the Senate they no longer have a faction and, as far as I know, in the Chamber of Deputies, many will go to the PNL, ALDE or PSD and they might end up without a fraction in the midst of candidature. (…) And now which opposition should you stand with? That is why we said that we must remain in dialogue with the parliamentary parties and we need to debate public policies, ” said Kelemen Hunor, according to official translations.
Kelemen Hunor also said that UDMR has a fairly large freedom of action in the sense that it can support projects or can receive support from both the power and the opposition parties.
The UDMR leader participates in the second edition of the political camp organized together with the Hungarian Youth Conference in Romania (MIERT), in the village of Sub Cetate, the Zetea commune in Harghita.
