It is the third occasion when the Hungarian nationalities meet in the Aquatic Sports School at Lake Velenţa, this year there are 13 nationalities. The three-day event is organized by the German Youth Community of Hungary and is attended by nearly 100 young people. Fürjes Zoltán, Deputy State Secretary for National and Church Relations at Friday’s opening, described the importance of completing and creating links in the nationalities policy.

The meetings of the previous years were coordinated by the Slovakian Youth Community of Hungary, in 2018 the German Youth Community of Hungary received the permit for organizing the event. In connection with this, Jordán Blanka, the community leader, said: we have tried to organize new programs for this year’s meeting; stressed: “Try to get as much information as possible about different nationalities!” – added: “We hope that in the future we can involve more young people in the lives of nationalities.”

Three years ago, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Human Resources for the Church, Citizenship and Civil Society held the meeting of young nationalities in Hungary, which was taken over by the Bureau of the Prime Minister, therefore at the third meeting, Fürjes Zoltán, the Deputy State Secretary for Church and National Relations welcomed the participants on the lake:

-The formation of young people is also important in national politics. Therefore, the purpose of this meeting is therefore that young people from different traditions share their experiences. Experience gained during the event can be used either in politics or in day-to-day life. This meeting means new knowledge, information, a physical and psychological recreation for the participants – said the Secretary of State, then added: we must not forget that the 13 nationalities are not competitors but a community.

Ritter Imre, the national representative of the German Parliament – who represents all the nationalities in the Parliament – was applauded for the good news brought to the opening of the event: the 13 nationalities received an increase of nearly 5 billion forints for the next four years.

That amount is more than what they received for the last 4 years in total, he said.
